Training Sammy for Desert Tortoise Detection. Sammy was an interesting dog he had seven names before he was six months old, because he went through that many homes. He was the classic dog that was too smart for his own good. He partipated in the desert tortoise study, he did a proof of concept project for MD dept of agriculture identifing ash wood from oak wood. He worked with a local golf course to see if dogs could help early identifying of some turf grass diseases. He was the first dog i trained to find bed bugs. Sammy was a fine example of a dog that just needs a job to really shine. That job doesn’t need to be formal to be fulfilling.

Laura has 20 years of field experience -- training and handling dogs in the real world. She and her canine partners have conducted thousands of building searches (often hundreds of rooms) over the years. She's also trained and supervised other teams in the field.
